Progressive
people from all over the country will be descending on Washington, D.C. on Jan.
20 to stage a massive demonstration
along Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day. The high point is when Trump
passes by on the way to the White House. The press won't ignore this.

On Washington. This event is being organized on Facebook and we are not familiar with the
organizers. The 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. march and rally starts at the Lincoln Memorial. The main

Thursday, Dec. 1,
DELMAR: Brian Trautman of Veterans for Peace will report on his
recent experiences at Standing Rock, 7-9 p.m. at
Bethlehem Public Library,

Delaware Ave. Brian will discuss his Oct.12-17 experiences as he stayed at
Standing Rock’s Oceti Sakowin Camp, which is next door to the Sacred Stone Camp
located on the reservation. A discussion will follow the

Friday, Dec. 2, NEW
PALTZ: The film Take Back Your Power
will be screened at 8:15 p.m. at the Elton Memorial Library, 93 Main St. This
free event investigates the benefits and risks of the ubiquitous “smart” grid
program, with insight from insiders, expert researchers, politicians, doctors,
and concerned communities. It questions the right of corporations to tap our
private information and erode our rights in the name of “green.” What you
discover will surprise you. For example, Central Hudson Fortis is installing
digital utility meters throughout the Hudson Valley. Many residents object to
these meters on the grounds that they bathe them in unsafe amounts of
electromagnetic radiation. In addition, the digital meters catch fire and they
invade one’s privacy. Since 2015 the City of Kingston and the towns of
Woodstock, Olive and Gardiner have passed memorializing resolutions against the
digital meters in favor of allowing their residents to recover or retain their
safe analog meters without penalties or monthly fees. Information from Teresa

PALTZ: Stand in solidarity with the Native American-led protest against the
Dakota Access Pipeline 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Wells Fargo Bank, 29
Main St. Water protectors have been risking their lives to keep the 1,172 mile
pipeline, which would carry Bakken Crude oil, from being laid under the
Missouri River and Lake Oahe, the only water source of the Lakota Sioux. A
break in the line will poison drinking water for millions and hasten climate
change. Water protectors are being met with brutal militarized force from
County and State police, a private security firm hired by Energy Transfer
Partners, as well as from the National Guard, even though the corporation has
been given no federal permit approval to drill under the Missouri
River. Please bring signs. We will have fliers to distribute. Sponsored

Citizen Action of Hudson Valley.

ALBANY: Stand United with Muslims and immigrants, Trumps two favorite
targets, at 2- 4: p.m. at Townsend Park (Central and Washington Aves.) A
theme of the rally responds to the fact that the Ku Klux Klan has announced a
“victory” rally that day in North Carolina. David Duke former grand dragon of
the KKK was an early endorser of Trump. We will say in unity that this is our
country and that we oppose domestic terrorism and a Ku Klux Klan presidency. The
rally is backed by a wide diversity of organizations of Democrats, liberals and

December in NEWBURGH, POUGHKEEPSIE, KINGSTON, MONTICELLO: Trump has made
some of the most anti-Planned Parenthood, anti-reproductive health, anti-choice
nominations imaginable. Most recently, Trump has nominated Tom Price (R-GA) as
head of Health and Human Services. This
is disastrous. Take action with Planned Parenthood of the
Mid-Hudson Valley this Saturday, Dec. 3
from 12 Noon-2 p.m. at our Newburgh
Health Center. We’re meeting to discuss the news we have about what faces
Planned Parenthood, to write letters to key senators opposing the nomination of
Tom Price, and to write letters to the editor of our local papers about why we
need Planned Parenthood so desperately. Then we’ll have a Stand With Planned
Parenthood demonstration outside the health center. Here’s the rest of the December

CHATHAM: The Quaker Meeting will
screen The Singing Revolution at 7
p.m. in the Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 County Rt.13, across from Pitt
Hall Rd. and Powell House. The video shares how, between 1987 and 1991,
hundreds of thousands of Estonians gathered publicly to sing forbidden
patriotic songs and share protest speeches to proclaim their desire for
independence. The songs of the Estonians anchored their struggle, which was
ultimately accomplished without the loss of a single life. Free and open to the

2016. HYDE PARK: Today is the 75th anniversary of the Japanese
attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii — the
"Day that will live in infamy," in the famous words of President
Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is logical that there will be free events at the FDR
Presidential Library and the Henry A. Wallace Center. The address is 4079
